Magnesium cost per 100 mg
Bottle price, servings in the bottle, elemental magnesium per serving and servings per dose. The result is cost per 100 mg of elemental magnesium, plus the cost of the dose you entered.
The numbers in the boxes are examples, so the math is visible before you type. They are not a bottle we priced. Replace every box with the label in your hand.

How it works
- Cost per labelled serving = price ÷ servings per container.
- Cost per 100 mg of magnesium = price ÷ (servings × mg magnesium per serving) × 100.
The second is the fairer comparison, because labelled servings vary so much. Elemental magnesium per dose = mg per serving × servings per dose. Cost per dose = cost per labelled serving × servings per dose. Per dose here means the servings you enter. That is not a recommendation to take that amount.
Servings per dose changes the dose line. It does not change cost per 100 mg, because the price and the magnesium scale together. Count means servings per container on the Supplement Facts panel. The Magnesium line on that panel is the elemental amount. A larger number on the front of the bottle is often the whole compound.
The example in the boxes ($24.00, 60 servings, 200 mg, 2 servings per dose) is $0.40 per labelled serving, $0.80 per dose (400 mg elemental) and $0.20 per 100 mg.
Only the numbers you type are used. Nothing on this page looks up a bottle price or a label. Shipping, tax and coupons count only if the price you type already includes them.
FAQ
How do you get cost per 100 mg?
Price divided by (servings in the bottle times milligrams of elemental magnesium per serving), then times 100.
Which number on the label is elemental magnesium?
The Magnesium line on the Supplement Facts panel. A larger number on the front of the bottle is often the weight of the whole compound, magnesium plus the molecule it is bound to.
What does servings per dose change?
It changes the cost of the dose you typed and the milligrams in that dose. Cost per 100 mg stays the same, because the price and the magnesium scale together.
Is the labelled serving an amount to take?
No. Servings per container and the Magnesium line are label facts. This page does not say how much to take.
