Budget infrared sauna: blanket vs. cabin, and what each costs
A premium full-spectrum cabin like the Sunlighten mPulse Believe is listed at about $8,699. Even Sunlighten's simpler Amplify II starts at $5,799. Here's what you can get for less, and what you give up.
| Option | Price | What it is | Give up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sun Home Infrared Sauna Blanket | $499 | Blanket you lie in; brand claims 0.4 mG EMF (brand figure) | Not a room; you lie still inside it |
| HigherDOSE Sauna Blanket (premium blanket) | $699 | 9 heat levels up to 80 °C | Same as above |
| Dynamic Barcelona 1–2 person | $2,099 | Far-infrared cabin, marketed "low EMF" | Far infrared only, small |
| Maxxus 2 person Near Zero EMF | $3,299 | Far-infrared cabin, Canadian hemlock | No red light or programs |
| Sunlighten Amplify II | $5,799 | Same brand as mPulse, full spectrum, 7-year warranty | No separately controlled wavelengths |
Before you buy
- Power: check the voltage and circuit the cabin needs (some larger cabins need 240V/dedicated circuits; Sunlighten's mPulse Believe runs on 120V). EU buyers: check a 230V version exists.
- "Low EMF" is usually a brand claim. Ask for an independent measurement with distance and method.
- Safety listing: look for ETL/UL (US) or CE (EU) and check it in the certifier's directory. We haven't confirmed listings for these saunas yet, so none has a Renvo Score.
- Health: we don't make health claims. Ask your doctor if you have a medical condition.
