Sauna at home: what the first year costs
A 2-person Sweat Kingdom sauna does not stop at the sticker. The Ridge is $7,145 on the product page. Add the $750 modular freight from the shipping policy and the $500–$1,500 electrician range printed on that page, and a DIY install lands around $8,395–$9,395 before a pad or power. Their assembly service is another $1,500. The Sweat Barrel starts lower, at $5,145. Both stickers were the same on 31 Oct 2026. These are traditional saunas, not infrared.
Sweat Kingdom site says: "BLACK FRIDAY SALE: SAVE UP TO $1,750 | ENDS NOVEMBER 30!" (sweatkingdom.com, checked 31 Oct 2026). Savings vary by model on each product page.

Pairing a sauna with a cold plunge? Sweat Kingdom sells the Surge Cold Plunge Tub at $8,990 (compare-at $9,490, 31 Oct 2026). The pages we read do not print a permit fee, so none is in the table.
What is in those numbers
- Sticker prices are already the sale prices. The Ridge page shows $7,145 and labels it $1,750 off an $8,895 compare-at price. The Barrel shows $5,145, labeled $750 off $5,895. Do not subtract the sale banner again. Black cedar on the Ridge is $7,345.
- Freight. The shipping policy says modular saunas ship for a flat $750 in the contiguous US, curbside, and large or custom saunas are quoted. The Ridge page calls the build a modular assembly. Both product pages also say shipping is calculated at checkout, so confirm $750 before you pay. The Barrel page does not itself say "modular." Missing the freight appointment can mean a $1,495 reroute fee, also in that policy.
- Electrician. The Ridge page says the 6 kW heater needs a 40 A breaker and an 8/3 hardwired connection, and that most customers pay $500–$1,500 depending on distance from the panel. The Barrel's Harvia 6 kW line is 30 A, hardwired, 10/2 or 10/3 depending on the heater. The Barrel page does not print a dollar figure for that work.
- Assembly. The assembly product is $1,500. Sweat Kingdom says that price does not include site prep, staining or the electrical work. The Barrel page says some assembly is required, and lists a 5 week lead time.
- Power. Sweat Kingdom's cost article says a traditional sauna typically costs about $1 a session in electricity. At 4 sessions a week that is $208 in a year. The $1 is their figure. The 4 sessions are our assumption. It is not inside the table.
- Pad. The same article lists foundation from $0 to $3,000, and $0 if you already have a pad or the sauna goes indoors. Not in the table.
Sweat Kingdom's Barrel page says: "Enjoy the heat and recovery benefits of a traditional sauna in your own backyard." The same page says the included heater reaches 110–230°F in 45–90 minutes depending on the target and the weather. The Ridge page says the cabin is built to reach 170–200°F. Sweat Kingdom also says saunas may qualify as a medical expense with a letter of medical necessity, through its partner Truemed. That is their statement, not a tax ruling, and it is not in the totals.

Warranty, freight, shipping and returns
- Warranty. Sweat Kingdom's warranty page calls it a 3-Year Limited Warranty for the original purchaser of a sauna bought directly from Sweat Kingdom Saunas, for personal residential use, covering structural and manufacturing defects for three years from the delivery date. Warranty page, read 31 Oct 2026.
- Freight. The shipping policy says modular sauna orders ship at a flat rate of $750, curbside LTL, to the contiguous United States. Large and custom saunas are quoted separately.
- Where it ships. The shipping policy says Sweat Kingdom ships to the contiguous United States only. It does not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or international destinations. The shipping policy says a missed freight appointment, after four contact attempts, can mean a $1,495 rerouting fee.
- Returns. The refund policy says every sauna purchase includes a 30-day home trial from the delivery date, and that return freight is the buyer's responsibility (generally $750 to $1,500). It also lists "Discounted, clearance, or final-sale merchandise, except where a confirmed defect exists" among items that are not eligible for return. Refund policy and shipping policy, read 31 Oct 2026.
These four lines are the policy text, not a promise about your address. Traditional electric stone heaters only. Sweat Kingdom does not sell an infrared sauna.
